Celebrate Halloween with Black-owned Business

Call me what you want, but for me, fall means Halloween! I start celebrating in August because PSL season is earlier every year, and I'm not mad about it. My family and I love to carve pumpkins! There aren't many pumpkin patches here in Florida, but if you know of any Black-owned pumpkin farms, let me know, and I'll add it to my list of places to visit!

You can celebrate Halloween AND support Black and his Fall. Here are a few of my favorite ways:

• Many local coffee shops have created their take on pumpkin spice lattes and other seasonal drinks. Starbucks is not your only option; some small cafes have much better drinks than the OG. Here's a list of a few Black-owned coffee shops in major cities.

• Watch scary movies! Check out this list of horror movies created by Black folks.

• Etsy has Black-owned home decor shops that carry seasonal pieces.

• Apple and pumpkin-scented candles and lotions are a seasonal staple, but if you don't want to line Bath and Body Works' pockets, shop here for Black-owned home and body options (and click here for even more candles!).

• This "Black witches" shirt is created and sold by a Black woman on Etsy.

• Here's an afro witch sweatshirt by the same creator.
